This blog is about my travels during my sabbatical. It’s a virtual notebook or scrapbook, which may also contain to-do lists or anything else I happen to dump into it. I was gainfully employed for many (many!!) years. This sabbatical consists of my doing whatever I want and traveling until I run out of money.
I have traveled, and will go, to places far away, and also to some of the wonderful places not far from where I am lucky to have lived for 30 years: Denver, Colorado.
I blog here at WordPress as Suz at Large. The “Suz at Large” blog can be reached by online search engines. I originally set this blog to fly under that radar – to block search engines. But I’m experimenting after two weeks, by setting it to be visible to search engines. If it doesn’t draw too many spam comments or cause other problems I will probably leave it that way.
You can assume that any photograph used here without attribution to someone else, was taken by me. Come to think of it, you can assume that any really great knock-your-socks-off photos that appear on this blog were taken by someone else, but nevertheless I will give credit where it’s due.
I plan to share this blog with friends from all over, including but not limited to those I’ve traveled with.
The name of the blog is explained below the picture of this happy camel who lives in the Australian Outback between Alice Springs and Ayers Rock Resort.

“Where the fugawe*?”
It’s the traveler’s basic question, usually when waking up, sometimes late at night after too many miles or too many drinks, or both.
——
*pronounced “fug-AH-wee” – also spelled fugawi or maybe fugahwee; more emphatic than “heckawe.”
