That is the grand total air mileage I racked up during my trip in May, according to the itinerary from Grand Circle. Details below the fold if anyone really cares to know.
Okay, if you’ve read this far, here’s how it adds up:
- May 1, DEN to LAX, 845 miles
- May 1, LAX to MEL, 7931 miles
- May 5, MEL to ASP, 1160 miles
- May 8, AYQ to CNS, 1113 miles
- May 12, CNS to SYD, 1221 miles
- May 15, SYD to CHC, 1334 miles
- May 21, ZQN to AKL, 637 miles
- May 23, AKL to NAN, 1341 miles
- May 26, NAN to LAX, 5529 miles
- May 26, LAX to DEN, 845 miles
That doesn’t count any additional miles we covered when our flight to MEL was diverted for refueling to SYD – we stayed onboard as the plane was fueled – and then flew from SYD to MEL. After that flight, which was 15 hours as scheduled and more like 17 in fact, all the rest of the flights seemed to be no big deal, even the flight from Fiji to LAX.
